FIFA President Gianni Infantino accompanied by the Secretary General Fatma Samoura on Sunday arrived in Abuja Nigeria on a two-day visit.
The duo was received by the president of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF),Amaju Pinnick and some members of NFF management staff.
Infantino is expected to meet with Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari and senior football association leaders from across Africa.
The Secretary General of Nigeria’s Football Federation, Mohammed Sanusi said the visit would be a good opportunity for people to share ideas about the advancement of Nigeria’s potential in the game.
“Football is a good business. Nigeria we have one of the largest professional players playing across the globe and it is likely that more players will leave the shores of the country which will positively impact on the economy of Nigeria,” he added.
Infantino and Samoura are scheduled to be guests at an under-13 exhibition football match at the Abuja National Stadium on Monday.
The FIFA President will return to Switzerland on Monday night, while the Secretary General will depart Nigeria on Tuesday.
